Alright so in the world of Liz….we’ve gone totally primal and cleaned the apartment..well almost all the way clean.. who knew a tiny apartment, plus two humans, plus two crazy animals could have so much stuff! But I’m almost there! And I missed my blog…so I’m updating it… and then it’s off to finish up a few things..
The other thing I wanted to mention.. is I’m going to start posting what I get for dirt cheap couponing wise, and also start posting coupons you should be grabbing {especially for things like toilet paper, paper towels, toothbrushes, etc} off of websites. If you get the paper now, save the coupon inserts! That way when I post what I’m finding you can totally go out and do it. {well as long as our stores and coupons match up… oddly enough… the coupon inserts change from place to place {even town to town in some states} So sometimes what I get you might not}. But I figure it’ll help some people out. Let me know if you ever have questions on that too, I’m always around to answer them! {remember I love email}
So back to the yummy-awesomeness that I promised! Sausage Stirfry.. oh.my.gosh was it ever amazing, I’ve made a whole bunch of different versions of this. I know I’m looking to create more “side” dishes… and that’s how this started out. But It was too good not to be the meal itself…. so bonus! lol.
Ok.. here it is
Ingredients:
6 medium size sausages { add less if it’s a side..add more if you super love sausage}
4 Slices of Bacon
1 Medium Onion, medium dice
3 Cloves garlic
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 Medium sized tomatoes, medium dice
1 tbsp basil {I prefer fresh, if you only have dried, use a little less first, and then add more if you need it}
1/2 tbsp rosemary { Ditto to the basil comment}
Red Pepper Flakes {to taste}
Salt + Pepper
How to:
• Cook the bacon, while that’s going chop up onions, garlic, and sausages. When the bacon is done take it out of the pan and set aside.
• Add the onion into the pan with all the yummy bacon fat, let it start to cook down. When it’s about half way done add in your sausages. Let that go for a while.
• If need be chop up your fresh herbs, when your sausages are almost done add in your garlic and herbs.
• Give it another 2 or so minutes and then add in your diced tomatoes, red pepper flakes, spices, salt and pepper.
• Let that cook a way for about 5 minutes, right before you’re ready to eat it add the lemon juice to brighten it up a bit.
•Enjoy!
I ended up serving this over a salad. It was amazing to say the least!
