Ah so here we are.. another holiday! Ha.. again.. seriously I love the holidays.. but I wish they were spread out more .. you know like a 2 month break inbetween each! I’m still recovering from Thanksgiving.
We’re doing the same deal for Thanksgiving plus some, Going to see my parents x-mas eve, staying there… then driving 2+ hours north to see Mr. Not So Paleo’s family, then driving an hour+ Back home… Did I mention Primal Puggle is coming to all of it too? I think evil primal kitty is very very excited to have the house to herself!
I want to bring food to my parent’s house for x-mas eve, but I want it to be little finger food noms… hence I’m doing this blog post..
I’m of course making:
• Chocolate covered almonds
• Stuffed mushrooms {they are highly requested apparently}
• Deviled eggs {I impressed my dad with my home-made mayo woohoo}.
But I want to add a few things, because heyy it’s the holidays!
• So I’m adding in possibly the cookies recipe, but that could be a lie { Mr. Not So Paleo might not leave any to take to my parents haha}.
But I really really want to add in two new recipes I’ve found and they’re relatively inexpensive.
• Nom Nom Paleo’s Bacon & Guacamole Sammies
• The Food Lover’s Primal Palate’s Stuffed Dates.
In case you’re wondering the order on how to make all of this, if you were to do it as a spread, I’d have the almonds and cookies pre-made the night before as well as the eggs boiled. Then I’d make the stuffed mushrooms, get those in the oven, make the mayo + deviled eggs, pop them in the fridge, assemble the Stuffed Dates, when the mushrooms come out of the oven, pop the Dates in, pull those out, cook the bacon and assemble the Bacon + Guacamole Sammies! That’ll give you the best work flow and utilize all areas of your kitchen!
{If you’re going to add a veggie platter, I’d chop it all up a day in advance, save yourself some time that day!}
I’m testing out both of those recipes { And pricing them out} So I’ll give you a heads up tomorrow on my thoughts / cost break down. But I think they’ll be cute to bring and have ready for when my parents get home after they go to a party! That way we can all relax!
**Are you going somewhere that is going to serve a non-paleo breakfast x-mas morning? Here’s my idea: Make deviled eggs that morning { or even the night before.. they keep overnight!} and have those for breakfast with some bacon.. yes yes you’re seeing how awesome this is? How yummy this could be?
Ha! Do.It
What is everyone else making?
And to sum this very random blog article up..
For the love of coffee and bacon on a lazy day, please make a grocery list before you brave the store this week, we all know they’re going to be insane… So make your life easy, make a list {and check it twice to be cliche} So that way you’re in and out as fast as you possibly can be 🙂
{I’m braving it tomorrow…. so not looking forward to it.. and walmart! Oi…I’m scared}
