So here it is, I can’t believe I haven’t done a post like this yet! It’s everything I bought at the grocery store yesterday for the week. I’m going to try and be good and do this one or two times a month!
This is the grocery trip for two adults plus a primal puggle and crazy cat.
I did over buy for us this week because Saturday I have a wedding to photograph, So I’ll eat @ the wedding and then Sunday my sister is graduating high school so I’ll eat there too!
Crossing my fingers I’ll be able to just buy a few essentials next week and have a good amount left over!

•Extra Lean {it’s a mix of 85%-90% lean} Ground beef {3.5 lbs}: $6.53

•Frozen Sausages: $2.89
•Chicken Breast {1 lb}: $2.29
•Slab Bacon {Little over a lb}: $5.04

The Rest:
•2 Dozen Eggs: $1.98

•1 Can of Almonds: $2.99
Total: $38.64
The only thing I forgot to get which I’ll probably grab Friday when I run out for lens cleaner and batteries {first wedding of the season is saturday!!!!!!!!!!!} is Store brand steam fresh veggies, they’re $0.88 per bag this week… so I’ll probably get 4 of them which will be $3.52, which will bring my total grocery bill too: $42.16
Not too bad, I always have extra meat and veggies in the fridge, when it’s cheap I buy it up…. like last week pork was under $2.00/lb. It was ridiculously cheap, so I bought 3 packages and have enough for the next few weeks. When you’re browsing through your grocery store make sure you look for “manager specials” or something similar.. If it’s cheaper than normal, you like it, and you can afford to buy it this week do it …. and then freeze it {my freezer is one hot mess}. Because next week or the week after money might be a bit tighter, so you’ll have the backup you need.
Prices are much much cheaper where you are than here in Ct that is for sure!!!
There not too bad up here in NH lol! I’m from Boston so I totally understand! All the fresh stuff {and meats minus the sausages and bacon} were on sale! So I really really lucked out this week 🙂
NJ prices aren’t as good as NH, either. 🙁
🙁 aww ! haha I should start shipping people stuff so they can all save money!!!! 😀
HAHA! Then, we’d have to pay shipping… Somehow, I don’t think that’ll help. LOL! But, thanks for the thought! 😉
…Maybe we all need to move to NH. 😀
My oh my, what grocery store do you go to? Those prices are killer…. killer good, that is! I’m really struggling with this “paleo/primal on a budget” thing. My hubby and I budget $100 a week for just the two of us, and somehow it’s not working (although it was more than enough previously… i’m trying to figure it out).
I totally understand! I used to be able to get the two of us by for under $20.00 a week {but heyy..you know the crappy stuff is always cheaper right?! lol!} I really really utilize the pre-frozen meat section in my grocery store. Most of the time the meat there is at least $0.75 less per pound than normal..which doesn’t sound like a lot but when you’re talking 3lbs or more…it adds up!
The other thing is I rely on frozen veggies so much, literally my staple, that and eggs. This week was a really good week, eggs were on sale, all the fresh veggies were super on sale, other wise I wouldn’t have gotten the zucchini, or the red onion, or the fresh tomatoes. Do you have any smaller chain grocery stores near you? We have a shaws, Market Basket {smaller chain} and Hannaford. I only really shop at Market Basket, because while they might not be stellar coupon wise, they’re awesome price wise.
I also {like the dork I am!} have compared prices at every grocery store in my area for the common items…to see where I’ll save the most money.
Let me know if you ever have questions or theres any way I can help! I’m always around 🙂
