Ahh It’s time for another ramble
This ramble can probably be applied to almost any part of your life {arts and crafts, knitting, your favorite TV show, blogging, cooking extra fun things, etc etc} but for me I’m going to relate it to couponing.
Some of you might know this but I do Wedding Photography for a living… which means from May – October my life is consumed by going to weddings and editing images and meeting with brides {and I freaking love it!} but it doesn’t leave a ton of room for everything else {you might notice blog activity decreases this time of the year}.
And my couponing suffers….BIG time. I literally stop couponing around May and don’t pick it back up until October/November. I mean not at all, I don’t check store deals {except for the grocery store} I don’t buy newspapers I don’t even step foot into a Walgreens {my favorite store to coupon at!}.
I’m just way to busy and couponing takes a lot of time and effort. So what do I do? I go into coupon overload from November – start of May {ish}. I mean I buy three newspapers a week, print off every coupon I can and a buy things in a very big quantities when on sale. For example… last December I had a awesome tissue coupon and they were on massive sale….so I got 30 boxes over a period of a week… I’ve still got tissues…. I don’t need to buy more until next winter {or maybe the winter after!}. When canned soup went on sale for Mr. Not So Paleo I ultra stocked up. Same with toothpaste, deodorant, batteries, etc, etc. This way I don’t got to worry about buying any of that day-to-day stuff while I’m working non-stop. So I’m A.) Not spending full price on anything and saving money and B.) I’m not worried about running and having to eventually spend full price on said items 🙂
And no I don’t worry about missing a sale most products go on sale every 1 – 3 months {sometimes 6 months}. So for the most part I’ll hit 2 sale periods per product!
So plan out when you’re going to do some of your extra things. I mean if you’re an Accountant/Tax Professional you can’t be doing a ton between what January and May? If you’re a teacher the school year probably isn’t the time to think you HAVE to coupon, or blog, or make scarfs for Christmas. Plan it out! If you’re a knitter and you make people gifts do it all during the summer. It’ll keep I promise. If you’re a blogger try to get a bunch of articles typed up ahead of time {I really need to listen to my own advice! LOL 🙂 }.
That way you won’t go crazy during the busy on season… heck even get your Holiday gifts purchased a head of time if you can.
{Personally…. I think everyone should follow in my Mum’s footsteps and have a box of gifts ready to go… when she finds different sorts of gifts for a good price she’ll buy them and leave them in a rubbermaid box. That way when teachers need a gift or someone has a birthday at work she’s ready to go without stressing out!}
Alright go analyze your schedules… make the adjustments so you STOP stressing out over the top during your uber busy season!
