So I figure with all this advice I’m giving I should update you guys if anything has changed or different.
Let’s start with.. Mayo! So oddly enough, walmart is WAY WAY {yeah that over priced} overpriced for olive oil. And not to mention it tastes weird {yeah even the extra light oliveoil has a taste to it..which it really shouldn’t}. So word to the wise… buy small cheap bottles of different light olive oils {that when in a big size are decently priced} and find the one that tastes best to you in your mayo and other cooking. Then don’t ever ever stray from it. Ever. Or else you have what is currently in my fridge…which isn’t very good mayo but you feel guilty about tossing it…so it’s turned into a lot of deviled eggs!
Pre-Frozen Meat…oh Boy this was exciting. I found a ton ton ton of 93% lean meat for dirt cheap. Like what I would pay for the 80% lean. I literally was dancing in the grocery store. If you don’t see a section like that in your grocery store, don’t be afraid to ask your butcher what he’s got stashed away. You could do a wicked big happy dance too when in your grocery store!
We’re due for another snow storm {something like 8-12 inches…I mean really I realize living in NH means that it snows in April..but that much? Sick Sick Joke mommy nature}. So because of that I’ll be snow bound for a few days, and will get a whole bunch of recipes and interesting facts ready to go!
Is there anything anyone wants to hear about? Recipes you need help with? If so either leave a comment or email me { liz@paleoonabudget.com } Remember I <3 email!
I’m also going to put together a random facts page. That’ll have things like pre-frozen meat and some other interesting things that really can’t fit a whole blog entry. Stay tuned for it!
Alright enjoy the snow if you’re getting some. If you’re not well… you know what I’m thinking right now.
What are your paleo friendly snacks of choice? Nuts, I know can be expensive (I happen to have access to a military PX and you can’t beat the sale price of nuts there… and larabars are only 88 cents).
Nuts are a great choice and I just recently fell in love with Larabars {I’m trying to DIY them}
But otherwise I try not to “snack” If I’m hungry I do a mini meal – scrambled eggs, leftovers, or if I have sliced turkey I’ll do that with almonds and maybe som salsa or guacamole {that’s my favorite!}
Hopefully that helps a bit!
{p.s. So jealous of your 88 cent Larabars!}
